Research done by Dr. Fujioka from Nutrition and Metabolic Research Center of the Scripps Clinic claimed that grapefruit can indeed cause weight loss. Respondents who ate half a grapefruit with a meal lost 3.6 pounds while those who drank the grapefruit juice lost 3.3 pounds over 12 weeks. While this number is nothing spectacular, it’s a good number judging by the amount of food eaten. Remember that this do not enforce any strict eating habit.

Naturally exercises and regulated eating plan is the key to weight loss but you don’t have to strain yourself if you follow this diet. However this diet does not promote a sense of portion control which in turn can influence its follower upon frenzy eating habit. So incorporate grapefruit juice or fruit consumption along with your meal, but eat your meal sensibly!
